In August of 2003, this SAGTM system started up at a wastewater treatment plant to protect their IC generator engines from fouling due to siloxanes and hydrogen sulfide in digester gas. In addition to the SAGTM Siloxane removal system, AFT provided media for removal of hydrogen sulfide to meet the IC engine manufacturer's specifications. Following is a brief summary of this installation:
| Total Gas Flow: | 412 to 1650 SCFM (700 to 2800 Nm3H) turn-up/turn-down capability included in system design |
| Siloxane Contaminants: | Siloxanes D4 and D5 (being removed to below 0.3 mg/m3) |
| The Major Problem Area: | Siloxanes and Hydrogen Sulfide fouling IC generator engines |
| System Configuration: | 2 SAGTM vessels in series |
| Annual Cost Savings: | Expected to be over $250,000 per year for lower maintenance on the engines |
